This self reflective body of work entitled "Pollination" developed out of my interest in the life cycle of plants. I chose this theme because i often find that my existential position is embodied by different stages in the life cycle of plants and flora of all kind. Because of this paralleled relationship between my life and the phases of the plant cycle I developed my signature style of transmuting and merging the female form into nature. Through this transfusion I express my deep desire to obtain a pure oneness with nature and all living things.
The women in the work are pollinated or pollinators. Givers and receivers of ancestral knowledge, sacred energies, and love. The textiles of soft yarn mimic a pollen-like texture on the canvas and adds dimension to the pollen in focus. Like pollen I depended on my environment to move me in the right direction and guide me to my purpose. All of my life experiences have pollinated me and informed my creative process and guided me to my first solo exhibition......... "Pollination" 2020
